As a volunteer in Mexico, you
teach English to college students in the Spanish colonial cities of Dolores Hidalgo and Queretaro. You are immediately accepted and appreciated in our
host communities as a rare and valuable resource in the local students' quest to gain greater English language proficiency.
These cities are two of Mexico's finest cultural and historical attractions. It was in 1810 in Dolores Hidalgo that the Mexican revolutionary war of independence against the Spanish began. In 1917, the Mexican Constitution was drawn up in Queretaro.
Experience the best of Mexico: vibrant cultural practices, strong family traditions, a clear and proud national identity, and the local people's determination to improve their future opportunities.
Dolores Hidalgo and Queretaro played major roles in Mexico's fight for independence and thus many historical sites are nearby. Some volunteers take a bus to San Miguel de Allende, while others shop in Leon or enjoy the numerous cultural attractions, including museums, shops and theaters. The universities offer a wide variety of options and sometimes volunteers are invited into local homes for tea and conversation.
Free-time arrangements and costs are your responsibility.
