Volunteer in Eastern Europe on three very special projects. You can
teach conversational English to ambitious Polish students and adults in various settings throughout the year.
Volunteers are needed to provide care, companionship and homework help for children from dysfunctional families at an after-school shelter.
Along with tutoring English skills, your help is also needed to provide care, companionship and assistance with art and cooking classes to youth and adults with physical and/or mental disabilities. Teaching English language skills will help ensure your students' futures and working with "at-risk" children and adults will make a significant difference in their lives by providing the attention and stimulation they need and deserve.
Demonstrate the great value of people-to-people service. Choose a volunteer program during the school year, or teach English at summer camps. Play, study and read with local students -- discover your "inner child" in a friendly and historic European community.
Authentic Polish cuisine is appetizing with abundant variety. Volunteers generally eat meals together and are often joined by students, faculty and hosts. The grounds at Reymontowka are absolutely beautiful. Tennis courts are available with extra rackets provided for volunteers. Horseback riding is another option for volunteers and an outside barbecue pit awaits for those wanting a traditional Polish meal.
During free time, volunteers may visit the attractions of both the Krakow and Warsaw regions. Near Krakow, volunteers may tour many of the sites depicted in the film Schindler's List, as well as Wawel Castle, Auschwitz, and the salt mines. Free-time arrangements and costs are your responsibility.
