Global Volunteers' China Service Program began in 1996 and has enabled thousands of volunteers to see China through the eyes of the Chinese people; experiencing everyday life in Chinese schools, homes and communities, and developing friendships with children, young people and adults.

Together with our Chinese hosts, we help leaders in Xi'an and Kunming to provide the best education possible for children and young adults. This combined effort provides Global Volunteers' team members an unprecedented opportunity to serve, and to experience China intimately, with the politics and pretenses "peeled away."
