Global Volunteers' China Service Program began in 1996, and has enabled thousands of volunteers to see China through the eyes of the Chinese people; experiencing everyday life in Chinese schools, homes and communities, and developing friendships with children, young people and adults.

Together with our Chinese hosts, we help leaders in Xi'an, Kunming, Haikou City, and An Shang to provide the best education possible for children and young adults. The Sino-American Society is a non-governmental organization that coordinates cultural and business relations between China and other countries. This combined effort provides Global Volunteers' team members an unprecedented opportunity to serve, and to experience China intimately, with the politics and pretenses "peeled away."
