Fourth Day of Teaching |
|
We have settled into a routine by now. Each of us is fairly comfortable with teaching. We are enjoying the interaction with the students and teachers. Annette has stumped the teachers with the phrase “hustle-bustle”. Wes was called the “big potato” by one of the teachers. Idioms are so much fun.
We are ready to move on to another lesson in the text book. We have been talking about global warming in the text book all week. However, last night at dinner Wang Baoli informed us that a few classes need the same lesson next week. This needs to be clarified.
After class we walked to the Great Mosque and did some shopping in the Moslem bazaar. The mosque was quite impressive. We all enjoyed the rich colors and interesting people in the bazaar, and we did buy a few trinkets as well. It was great.
Another adventure was a trip to the flower market on the way back to the hotel from the school. The driver was kind enough to stop for a few minutes and wait for us to shop. Annette bought some lilies. The hotel provided a beautiful vase. The lilies add a touch of class to the room.
