Twelfth Day of Teaching |
|
The heat wave continues with temperatures hitting 31 degrees C. Wes and Annette were happy to be spending the day teaching in the cool school library. We decided to use yesterday’s wedding experience to launch a lesson plan comparing U.S. and Chinese weddings. The wedding, combined with the cell phone lesson, gave us plenty of material for class. The students had lots of information to share and enjoyed hearing about U.S. weddings. It’s no wonder that weddings are 13% of the GDP here in China (China Daily statistic).
After class Wes and Annette visited Xing-Quing Park close to the hotel. We were surprised to find a Dutch windmill and a very impressive tulip garden. Xi’an has lots of beautiful open spaces for its citizens to enjoy.
We ended the day with another delicious dinner and Wes napping through the BBC news.
