"Nia's a great leader who provides truthful information and communicates openly about the culture. She helped us really experience Costa Rica. She is also down-to-earth and willing to work. She showed interest in our lives and checked on our status daily."

Nia brings a personal perspective to the Global Volunteers program in Monteverde with excellent background information on the culture and traditions of Costa Rica. All Global Volunteers County Managers must achieve an established level of performance in order to continue leading Global Volunteers teams. They have served on one or more volunteer teams, and each year are required to complete our intensive two-week training seminar in Minnesota. They are experienced in managing diverse groups of people, and are formally evaluated by each volunteer team. You'll receive program and contact information from Nia approximately four weeks before your service program begins.

"Nia was just fantastic. I’m not sure where to start or end. She was a real leader. She helped us to help ourselves, but provided structure and mixed that with her generous spirit and unending wisdom. Nia was great with everyone in our group, all ages and stages. She was professional, thoughtful and so hard working. She is a gem."
