Ecuador Work Projects
The needs in Ecuador are tremendous. More than 300,000 children in Ecuador have disabilities, and nearly a third of all abandoned children are disabled. Ecuador is an economically impoverished country and so the challenges that most people face are daunting.
Our Ecuadorian hosts need help from volunteers in several areas:
- Childcare - infants, toddlers and young children.
- Caring for children with disabilities ages three to 17.
- Health care including public health education, surgery and dental care.
- Construction - a new child care facility and group homes.
- Physical labor - landscaping, painting and masonry.
Never doubt that you can change the life of a child in Ecuador. If you enjoy young kids or have experience working with disabled children, you can make a real difference by simply caring for the children of Calderon or Camp Hope. If you are a health care professional, we can use your skills either in a clinic or hospital setting or by providing physical checkups for the children. In addition, if you can wield a hammer, paintbrush or trowel, you can work along side Ecuadorian workers helping to construct new facilities for the children that are so greatly needed.
