Greece Country Manager

greece team leaderMost Global Volunteers service programs are managed by on-site staff who live in our host communities. Your Greece team leader is Country Manager Samantha Pinakoulaki, a Crete national. Samantha was born and brought up in the south of England and graduated from a London school of performing arts with honors before moving to Greece, marrying and starting a family. All Country Managers are trained and experienced in managing diverse groups of people. All have served on one or more volunteer teams, and participate in an annual intensive two-week team-leader training session in Minnesota. Further, all our team leaders are evaluated by the volunteers on each program, and must achieve an established level of performance in order to continue leading Global Volunteers teams.

Sam is greatly appreciated and respected by her team members, as reflected in these volunteers' evaluations:

"Sam took the time needed to make sure the program went smoothly. She also listened closely to the volunteers' needs and wants, and tried to accommodate them as much as possible. She's lively, friendly and intensely committed to the work of Global Volunteers. We couldn't have had a better leader."

"Sam is a loving, caring, free spirited and respected woman who is knowledgeable and cares greatly about every individual child and volunteer."
~ Dana Rosen, Greece volunteer

You'll receive program and contact information from Sam approximately four weeks before your service program begins.
