Our partnership in Crete is with the municipal county government of Gazi, specifically through the mayors' office. Gazi County, with a population of about 20,000, is located near the city of Iraklion a few kilometers from the Aegean Sea. Global Volunteers has been working at various locations in Greece since 1996. The programs in Gazi began in summer 2005 and have resulted in some of the most mutually fullfilling experiences reported.
