Italy Volunteer Vacation Testimonials

"On my birthday, I was greeted by the entire school - students and teachers - all lined up at the entrance to the school with grand applause, bouquets of flowers, a plaque from the principal and a gift from the students. I felt humbled by their thoughtfulness and graciousness and, at the same time, felt like a visiting head-of-state."

"I feel full of love. The children have learned my lessons well, and for the past three days, they have been completely attentive in class. I'm very proud of them, and tell them of my feelings. I can see how much they like and respect me. A lump forms in my throat. I will surely miss their faces."

"I’m Italian by heritage, and volunteering in this community, I became Italian in heart and spirit."
~ Joanne Lamb, CA

"I felt like Queen Elizabeth of England when it was time to leave. All the children were assembled to wish me 'Buon Vioggio.' After singing an Italian farewell to me I got to shake hands and kiss 175 beaming faces. Then as they headed down the stairs I stood at the top of the stairs and waved goodbye until all the children were out of sight. The whole experience was more than I could ever imagine."
