Jamaica Free Time
How much free time is there during the program?
You will have free time primarily on Saturday and Sunday of the second week of the program for either day trips or for a weekend excursion. Additionally, there is free time at the end of each work day.
What are free-time options?
 Teams have a lot of fun in Jamaica during free time. There are many hiking trails and waterfalls around the Blue Mountain villages to explore with a local guide. In recent years, the interior of the island has become more popular for wildlife enthusiasts, and eco-tourists, so local residents have begun providing more amenities for hikers. On the weekend, you might opt to hike to the Blue Mountain Peak, swim at the public beach in Morant Bay, or enjoy the hot mineral bath in St. Thomas. In addition, you can see where Blue Mountain coffee is grown nearby. It's available for purchase in the host community.
Will Global Volunteers arrange free time for me?
No. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, Global Volunteers is prohibited from making non-program-related arrangements for you. However, our team leaders and consultants can provide general guidance and advice, including a list of activities explored and enjoyed by previous teams.
Can Global Volunteers recommend a free-time tour operator?
