Freetime Options in Jamaica

kids with home made toysYou will have free time primarily on Saturday and Sunday of the second week of the service program for either day trips or for a weekend excursion. Additionally, there is free time at the end of each work day to enjoy village life and nearby attractions. There are many hiking trails and waterfalls around the Blue Mountain villages to explore with a local guide. In recent years, the interior of the island has become more popular for wildlife enthusiasts, and eco-tourists, so local residents have begun providing more amenities for hikers. On the weekend, you might opt to hike to the Blue Mountain Peak, swim at the public beach in Morant Bay, or enjoy the hot mineral bath in St. Thomas. In addition, you can see where Blue Mountain coffee is grown nearby. It's available for purchase in the host community.
