A special announcement to members of Wisconsin Chapter of the NASW World events can be discouraging to the humanitarians among us. However, to a child in need, world events mean very little. You can make a tremendous difference! Just a week or two of your vacation time can be a lifeline to children in other countries. Nurture an orphaned baby, teach conversational English to a teenager, help construct a new school, or provide direct patient care and help catalyze a developing community toward self-sufficiency. And you’ll learn about another culture from those who live it. Who says one person can't make a significant difference? Global Volunteers is a non-sectarian, non-profit, international volunteer organization in consultative status with the UN. Wisconsin Chapter of the NASW is partnering with Global Volunteers and encourages you to help the children of the world by participating on their service programs.
Please consider doing something unique and truly meaningful with your vacation time this year. Serve with Global Volunteers. Give of yourself knowing an international NGO leader directs your efforts.
Global Volunteers staff lead your team, and handle the day-to-day arrangements, leaving you to connect with those you serve. |
