John T. Petters Service
Scholarship for Students

We understand the financial challenges facing many of our college student volunteers --especially in these difficult economic times. Our partnership with the John T. Petters Foundation specifically responds to this difficulty, and offers a limited number of partial scholarships to undergraduate students for Global Volunteers' service programs in early 2010. The scholarship covers half of the recipient's Global Volunteers service program fee. The recipient is responsible for the remaining balance as well as securing and paying for their own airfare to and from the host country. Global Volunteers provides tips and tools that can assist in fundraising.

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be enrolled at a college or university as an undergraduate student, be a U.S. citizen, have proof of financial need, and be willing to volunteer internationally for a minimum of three weeks. The completed application along with all documentation specified in the application and an official university/college transcript must be received by Global Volunteers, Attn: Karisa Grosser, 375 E. Little Canada Road, Saint Paul, MN 55117, before August 1st, 2009. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Please read on for details on eligibility criteria and to learn how to apply for the John T. Petters Service Scholarship for Students.
