"My involvement with Global Volunteers has changed my life!"
Barladian by birth, I grew up in the same city and went to school there.
I worked as a metrologist for 17 years at the Ballbearing factory in Barlad, one of the fewest of the kind in Romania and of the biggest in Eastern Europe. I am currently studying to become a social worker.
Currently I am married and my wife and I have a daughter who is five-years-old.
I found out about Global Volunteers through the manager of this program in Romania, who is now my wife. She told me about the Tutova Hospital and the children in need.
I love children therefore it wasn’t hard for me to get to like this project immediately. If my wife, Mihaela Cirjontu, has been for years, “mama,” for those children, I came in as “tata,” which means "daddy." Years later, I do feel I am a part of a big family. Along with the volunteers who come to the Tutova Clinic, I am proud that we can offer these children what they miss – a family.
My involvement with Global Volunteers has changed my life. What I am doing and what I will continue to do in my professional life is permanently connected to the children in need. All my knowledge and strength is put to use for their benefit.
Beside working for and with children, I like travelling, sports (especially tennis) listening to music, and working on computers.
