Your Team Leader in Portugal
Most Global Volunteers service programs are managed by on-site staff who live in the communities we serve. However, in a few places, including Portugal, Global Volunteers USA staff and volunteer team leaders manage programs by traveling to the host community with the volunteer team.
All our USA staff and volunteer team leaders are trained and experienced in managing diverse groups of people. All team leaders have led teams to different program locations. In fact, some have managed 20 or more Global Volunteers service programs around the world! In addition, they have all completed our intensive team-leader training seminar. Further, all our team leaders are evaluated by the volunteers on each program, and must achieve an established level of performance in order to continue leading Global Volunteers teams.
You'll receive contact information for your Portugal Program team leader about four weeks before your service program begins.
"I truly believe that it was destiny that Beja and Global Volunteers discovered one another. After all, legend has Beja recognized as a peace center dating back to the Roman times, and Global Volunteers is all about promoting peace through mutual understanding – a 'perfect match,' I think."
~ Joe Testa, NY, volunteer team leader
