Provide Essential Material Donations

The need for school, health, housing, nutrition and project resources in many partner communities frequently exceeds Global Volunteers' capabilities to provide them. It is through additional supplies, donated by team members, that many of these needs are met.

Each year, our community partners submit to us a list of items needed for the upcoming year's work projects which volunteers can bring with them on their service program. Some may be resources not readily available in the host country. Examples are text books, games, calculators, crayons, world maps, dolls, balls and bats, belts and shoes, vitamins, crutches, eye glasses and the like. You may make a material donation to a specific host community online here.

The following are some donation requests from a few of our partner communities:

Cook Islands: elementary reading books, flash cards

Ghana: crayons, markers, bat and balls

India: puzzles, crayons, coloring books, pencils

Tanzania: world maps, computers, chalk

Romania: dolls, simple puzzles, picture books

Volunteers receive updated project material request lists in their volunteer orientation packet after they apply, and may choose to take specific material donations to the host community on their service program. Please refer to guidelines for project donations here.
