When many students graduate from the Puericultorio Perez Aranibar (PPA), a children's home in Lima, they leave without any assurance of obtaining a higher education or succeeding on their own.
Your sponsorship can help meet the special needs of these vulnerable young adults... a safety net, and assurance (s)he will have expanded job prospects and a brighter future. The cost is so small, but the potential is so great when you invest in the higher education of a Peruvian student.

Our Development Partnership: Global Volunteers has assisted the PPA since 2004 to provide classrooms, books, school materials, food, a safe place to sleep, instructional assistance and care to the children of Lima, Peru and surrounding neighborhoods. But, when the children become adults, government support ends. Here's where your dollars and your compassion can make a real difference. By contributing to the Peru Scholarship Fund, your sponsorship helps ensure that one of these high potential students can attend a local institute and expand their employment possibilities. You become a prominent part of the growing, long-term success of these students' lives. Your commitment is less than $10 a week, and is fully tax-deductible.

Here's How it Works: Each year, for the cost of just one small take-out pizza per week, or a monthly dinner for two, you can provide the direct support needed to secure the tuition and educational materials for a promising young adult from the PPA in Peru. You have the opportunity to support that student each year until the student completes his or her education. Would you enjoy supporting a young adult this way? When you complete your sponsorship application, we'll send you background information about the sponsored student, and update you on news and events of Global Volunteers work in Peru. And, by continuing your sponsorship each year, you can witness the students' growth and development, and the changes in the host community.
