Fundraising Tips and Tools

1. Join a Global Volunteers team and draw up a budget

2. Create a personalized fundraising webpage here.

3. Start a list of all potential donors. Volunteers often ask friends, family, professors, advisors, employers, co-workers, members of any church or student group with which he/she is involved, sports members, family acquaintances. Ask anyone with whom you have any connection!

4. Keep your donors updated on your progress.

5. Upon return, share your story of service with others by giving a presentation to your class, student group, or even pitch a story to your student newspaper.

For more fundraising ideas, check out our fundraising guide, available here in pdf form.

Consider putting a group together to volunteer and pool your fundraising efforts!

"I learned a lot. I learned that happiness exists in poverty and that people who have little still have their pride. Most importantly, I learned that children are healing to cynical souls."
~ Chelsey Tollefson, Peru volunteer
