The children are so happy to see the Global Volunteers
GREETINGS FROM LIMA PERU
!
Hola a todos! (Hello Everybody!) The only way we can start this letter is by expressing the gratitude that we have. We want to thank you for all your help and support and being in this adventure in service! You really made the difference! You were a good ambassador in showing people that you cared and wanted to help others. You all have left with different memories that we remember fondly.

In its 4th year, Global Volunteers has brought 50 teams to Peru and we are ready to welcome 21 more teams this year! We hope you can join us in one of them! We look forward to seeing some familiar faces again! We appreciate your decision to come to Peru and volunteer, and we know that it’s not easy to leave your comfort zone but you did, and that makes the difference!

PUERICULTORIO PEREZ ARANIBAR UPDATE:
All of the wonderful programs at the PPA have continued, and we are happy to say that we have added one new one: Tonito Silva. This is the project in which the volunteers have aided in one-on-one physical therapy.

Volunteering in this project, you have helped Cristina who can walk now and grab things, Fabian who can crawl and is just ready to walk, Guadalupe who is “the party girl” now, Mariano, who is very strong and becoming more independent, and Carlita who is more social and helps to do “chores.” There are not words to express our gratitude for being the support of these kids.

Global Volunteers always bring smiles to the childrenKids from the three year olds are continuing to grow and always looking through the window to see if their “visitas” will go to pick them up! Also, the four and five year old girls and boys from Santa Rosa and San Vicente get so excited to have new visitors to give them attention and their favorites toys, especially playdough. “Big boys and girls” have had their English classes but as you know English was the best excuse to know them and let them know that you were there to have fun! The siblings program continued to unite families and strengthen the bonds between brothers and sisters who do not get to see each other often. Bingo, jump ropes, colored pencils and paper were the materials that you carried with you. Moreover, you always had a heart full of love and it was all you needed to work with them.

In addition to that, we have continued with the labor projects: remodeling the TV room from boy’s area, fixing up the toddlers’ area and painting medicine department and parking lot. We have accomplished many goals because of your help and support. It is rewarding to know that kids, PPA staff and coordinators are happy and feel thankful for the people that care about them. It makes them feel special and important.

Milli and EdithSPONSORSHIP UPDATE:
The sponsorship program has given a ray of hope to the six students selected by the PPA sponsorship committee to receive this rare opportunity to go on to receive a higher education. Several of the selected students are studying for their entrance exams and thanks to the generous support of sponsors will soon embark on their journey to a career of their own.

With love and gratitude,
