USA Volunteer Vacation FAQs

Global Volunteers' USA Service Program began in the Mississippi Delta in 1990. Since then, we've served host communities in 23 states. Our programs in Montana and West Virginia began in 1999, and continue to thrive through dedicated local support. Working in partnership with local people on long-term community service work projects is foundational to our relationship with host organizations worldwide. Our investments of volunteer service, program support and international recognition are hallmarks of our commitment to this partnership.

What are the volunteer lodging arrangements?

What kind of meals are provided?

In all host communities, meals are plentiful and consist of American fare based upon the local culture. Teams prepare their own breakfast and lunch, and dinners often are carefully prepared by a local cook. Strict vegetarian and other restrictive diets may not be accomodated and specialty foods likely won't be available in the host community, so please bring your own supplies if you need to supplement your meals.
