Evenings and weekends are your free time.
What are free-time options?
There are many things to do in Hanoi on the weekend, including visiting:
- Unique craft markets
- “Hanoi Hilton”, the prison used to incarcerate the Vietnamese during the French occupation and U.S. soldiers, including U.S. Sen. John McCain, during the Vietnam War.
- Beautiful parks and lakes
- The Puppet Theater – order tickets early
- The Mausoleum
- Art Galleries
- The Catholic Cathedral
In addition, interesting weekend trips include:
- Halong Bay – a resort area
- Sapa – spectacular trekking
- Ninh Binh – Beautiful pagodas and rice fields

No. Because Global Volunteers is a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, our team leaders and consultants are prohibited from making non-program-related arrangements for you, although they can provide general guidance and advice, including a list of activities enjoyed by previous volunteers. |
